TODD RUNDGREN "A WIZARD A TRUE STAR" THE ORPHEUM THEATRE DECEMBER 04, 2009       The Los Angeles show of the west coast "A Wizard a True Star" Tour. The show featured the entire "AWATS" album played from front to back as the main feature of the show. The opening act was Todd Rundgren's Johnson, featuring a set of Robert Johnson tunes. The AWATS band featured Todd on guitar, Jesse Gress on guitar, Prarie Prince on drums, Kasim Sultan on bass, Bobby Strickland on Sax & Keys, Greg Hawkes and Ralph Schuckett on keyboards. There were many highlights in this show, but what impressed me the most was the continuity of the show. No stops between songs, one continuous show. The sheer difficulty of pulling that off was in and of itself amazing. Incredible show.
