TODD RUNDGREN
HOUSE OF POSE

The long awaited return of Todd to L.A.  After reading the reviews of the previous shows on this tour, I was really stoked about seeing Todd. On the way up to the show I was telling my buddy about some of the great setlists I've seen from other reviews, and he jokingly says "Yeah, we'll probably get Love in Action and Hammer in my Heart".  Sure as shit, he played 'em both.  But one thing I've learned in life is you gotta take you good with your bad. Ying and Yang. On one hand he played LIA, and Hammer in My Heart for an encore, but on the other hand he played, #1 LCD, The Ikon, and Open My Eyes! during the set.  Here's the setlist:

ISP
Couldn't I Just Tell You
Love of the Common Man
#1 LCD
Love In Action
Fix Your Gays
There Goes My Inspiration
Play This Game
Black & White
You're Fast
Trapped!
Cliche'
Bang on the Ukelele
Temporary Sanity
Open My Eyes
The Ikon
Buffalo Grass
One World
E1: Hammer in my Butt
E2: Worldwide Epiphany

I didn't get a lot of pictures this time, because the security at the flippin' House of Pose was really uptight about picture taking. Bleeding  poseurs. Bloody wankers. Fookin' nipples they are. The fooks should change their name to the bleedin' House of Wank instead of House of Pose.

As soon as I took my first shot, security grabbed me and told me I could either give up my camera or leave the show. I did neither. I had to hold off on taking pictures until the end of the set.

It wasn't that hot out in the audience, but onstage OH was sweating up a storm! One girl mercifully threw up her wrap, so he could towel off. OH-"oh great, something else to trip on" He was having some problems with his feet and that dang guitar cord, Kasim had to kick the cord out of his way several times.

Musically, The show was great. This is a trimmed down version of previous Todd bands, with just drums, bass & guitar. An excellent example of how good three people can sound, if they are all really talented. Once this machine gets going, it can't be stopped. They literally shred. Next stop, The Sun Theatre. Enjoy the pics!
